Management development on-line
The Learning and Development Department have launched an intranet site called BOC Management Development On-line. This site contains development modules and learning guides on a range of management subjects that were developed in conjunction with Ashridge, a management college. This provides a very accessible, timely and cost effective way to address development needs for all our employees.
The modules cover the following topics:

• Finance Awareness
The modules allow participants to work through those sections relevant to their development needs. Sections comprise of theory and models, illustrative examples (many based on real case studies) and exercises that apply the learning to the work place.
There are also a series of Learning Guides, which are quick reference documents on an extensive range of management topics and personal skills for all employees to use. They provide an excellent introduction to the subjects or act as reminders and refreshers for those who have already some experience or training on the topic.
