We provide our customers with a range of assist gases and lasing gases that enhance reliability and productivity for all types of industrial and medical lasers.

Assist gases

Assist gases are used to enhance the laser process at the point of use. We provide high quality gases and our technical experts can help you select the best gas for your process. Our assist gases include:

  • Oxygen – for cutting with CO2 and Nd:YAG lasers and as shield in Excimer lasers.
  • Nitrogen –  for cutting with CO2 and Nd:YAG lasers and as beam path shroud in Excimer lasers.
  • Argon – for welding with CO2 and Nd:YAG lasers.
  • Helium – for welding with CO2 lasers.

Lasing gases

Industrial lasers use a gas as the lasing medium for generating reliable laser light. We supply high purity gases to blend, or preblended to manufacturers specifications, including:

  • Laserpure carbon dioxide – for CO2 lasers.
  • Laserpure nitrogen for  – CO2 lasers.
  • Helium – for CO2 lasers.
  • A Halogen donor (HCl or F2) and a noble gas (Ar, Kr or Xe) in a helium or neon buffer –  for Excimer lasers for industrial and medical use.

Supply options

We supply compressed and bulk laser assist gases. Pure and pre-mixed lasing gases are used in relatively small quantities and are therefore supplied only in cylinders. Call Us or Email Us for more detailed information and a price quotation.

Processes that use our laser gases

Our gases are used in the following laser processes:

  • Laser cutting – with CO2 lasers mainly or Nd:YAG lasers; for carbon steels, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, plastics, ceramics and wood.
  • Laser welding – with CO2 and Nd:YAG lasers; for seam or spot welding carbon steels, stainless steels and non-ferrous metals.
  • Laser drilling – with Nd:YAG and Excimer lasers; for metals, plastic and most other materials.
  • Laser marking – with CO2 and Nd:YAG lasers, for metals, plastics and coated materials.

Our gases are also used in:

  • Selective heat treatment of high precision metal parts such as camshafts.
  • Medical treatment – to cut and cauterise blood rich tissue, and in eye surgery.
  • Laser sintering – for the repair of turbine blades.

Industries that use our laser gases

Our laser gases ensure highly reliable processes across a wide variety of industrial and engineering sectors for:

  • Welding, cutting and drilling parts during manufacturing or for repair.
  • Marking or etching serial numbers or part numbers during manufacturing.

These applications are used in industries such as:

Our laser gases are also used in industries such as:

  • Food and Beverages – to mark "Best Before" dates on cans and other coated packaging.
  • Healthcare – for medical lasers to cut and cauterise blood rich tissues, for photocoagulation and photodisruption in eye surgery and for micro-incisions.
  • Laboratories and research – for medical lasers, laser spectroscopy and laser research.
